Just kidding.
Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the temperature. There is nothing more refreshing to me than those crisp mornings and evenings after those months of summer heat. I LOVE fall, I have ever since I was young. The sky seems bluer, and the leaves, just wow. I remember reading a Calvin and Hobbes comic, and Hobbes made an observation that the trees were like nature's fireworks in the fall. That is how I feel, the fall is just exploding with natural beauty.

The reason for the leaves' change is that the chlorophyll production slows down with longer nights. This allows the other colors that have been in the cells of the leaf to show brighter. These colors are always present, but covered by the green color of chlorophyll in summer. Its simply the way that they are.
"For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." Romans 1:20This is my favorite reason to appreciate and take joy in autumn, because it reminds me more and more of Him, by what He made. Our God put this all together. Everything about existence, and the delicate balance of nature that exists speaks volumes of the intelligence in its design. While not going into too much detail, our existence, our planet, the whole system that provides life for us would fail miserably if the balance were off by one degree. This creation is no accident. We will be constantly pushed to accept that our existence is a result of accidents. False. I know friends that I have worked with in previous ministries who have accepted these false ideas.
"He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion,He is the maker, He set the existence in balance, He breathed life in the world so that I can plant a small seed and reap a harvest of tomatoes over the summer. Consider this creation and consider the love our Creator has for us, just to bring it all into existence. It's no accident, it's no mistake. The creation sings praises to our Father by its very existence. The tomato, the apple, the trees, they all shout of His glory. Even down to the ratios found in molecules that have to be just right for life to form, all of this proclaims the glory of His creation.
the Pleiades and the constellations of the south.
He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed,
miracles that cannot be counted." Job9:9-10
And if this creation is so wonderfully made, then so are you. You are the pinnacle of His achievement. You are no accident. You were knit together, by God. His hand is in your existence. We, over all of His creation, have the opportunity to willfully give Him praise for His creation. To shout out loud of the awesomeness of our Father God. Its your choice to gush forth in praise or deny what is undeniable. God the Father put you here for a reason.
As we continue into autumn, I want you to think on this. Those extra colors in the leaves, hidden in summer, but showing themselves over the weeks ahead, they were put there for you and you alone. We are the ones who can appreciate them. Autumn leaves are just one of the countless love letters from our Father, meant just for us. This great love that is displayed in the simple beauty of a red leaf on a maple tree in October.
"When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:" Psalm 8:3-6
Aaaaah, just appreciating the beauty of where we live (planet earth) is so freeing. Just thanking God for little beauties everywhere makes your heart swell. He loves us so much.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking this about the clouds today, they literally looked as if they had a silver lining. What I believe Heaven will be like.
Courtney, I totally agree. Every season, every day reveals gifts, some small, some grand. We are constantly being pursued. No one loves us like God, continuing to seek our favor and affections and leading us into a greater relation with Him.
